This role

As an Assistant Accountant you'll be working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, with a primary focus on our eBenefits revenue stream. This is an international role that balances accounting with high-impact stakeholder engagement.

The role splits roughly 50/50 between accounting and active collections. You'll own the full-cycle Accounts Receivable process for our EWA product, from reporting and reconciliation through to chasing outstanding balances directly with clients on the phone. You'll also be a key point of contact for our international client base on EWA, Heropoints and general account queries, regularly liaising with stakeholders and customers in the UK timezone.

Day to day, you'll manage eBenefits accounting including reconciliations, journals and accruals, with exposure to inter-company and FX transactions. You'll also audit and validate commission payouts across our sales team and partner network to keep them accurate.

We need someone who's a self-starter, works at pace, stays composed under pressure, and juggles competing deadlines without dropping quality. You'll use AI-driven tools and automation to handle large transaction volumes, freeing you up for the analysis and problem-solving that needs a human.

This role will include

• Own daily reconciliation of eBenefits bank accounts, Spend Account settlements and chargebacks, and Heropoints/giftcard incentives across multiple regions
• Manage the full Earned Wage Access (EWA) Accounts Receivable process, including reconciliation
• Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any issues
• Own eBenefits cashflow, working with Accounts Payable on top-ups and transfers to ensure sufficient and timely settlement of funds
• Audit and validate partner and sales commission payouts, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
• Drive process improvements and collaborate with Product, Engineering and Finance to standardise accounting processes and lift efficiency using AI
• Resolve client queries across eBenefits products via internal channels and Zendesk, working closely with Assistant Accountants, Support and Product Owners
• Support external audits and maintain clear documentation of processes

Who you are

• 2+ years' experience in a similar role, with a relevant finance/accounting degree and currently studying towards CPA or CA
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Periscope, Tableau or Floqast is a plus, along with intermediate Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, able to interpret and present financial data and understand trends through forecasting
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong planning and organisational skills, consistently meeting deadlines, with the ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under minimal supervision
• A positive attitude, solid work ethic and openness to learning
• Hungry, creative and data-driven, thriving in a fast-growing, high-volume environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity
• Genuine interest in AI and fintech automation, and how emerging tech can improve financial accuracy and speed
