About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Customer Support Specialist to join Flippa’s global Customer Experience team. This role is critical in delivering a world-class support experience for our marketplace customers, ensuring they can confidently create accounts, navigate the platform, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

You will act as the front line for many of our users, helping them succeed on Flippa by resolving issues efficiently and escalating more complex cases where needed. Your work will directly shape customer trust and the overall marketplace experience.

This role reports to the Customer Experience Team Lead based in Austin, Texas, and works closely with the existing global CX team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new and existing users in setting up and successfully using Flippa
  • Deliver timely, high-quality customer support across chat, email, and platform channels
  • Help customers understand how Flippa works, improving onboarding success and platform adoption
  • Manage, investigate, and resolve customer issues and complaints, escalating where appropriate
  • Support a trusted marketplace experience by identifying and escalating suspicious activity, disputes, or policy issues where appropriate
  • Ensure customers receive clear, accurate, and consistent communication at all times
  • Monitor and manage incoming payments into the FlippaPay Trust Account to ensure release of payments in line with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by sharing insights and feedback with the Product team
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes, tooling, and knowledge resources
  • Collaborate closely with global CX colleagues to ensure seamless coverage across time zones

What You Bring to the Table:
You are a customer-obsessed problem solver who enjoys getting to the root of issues and resolving them efficiently. You communicate clearly and concisely, and you know how to adapt your tone to different customer situations.

You bring experience in customer support (ideally 2–3+ years) in a fast-paced digital, SaaS, or marketplace environment, and are confident working across support tools such as Zendesk and real-time platforms like Slack.

You are comfortable working in ambiguity, prioritising effectively, and managing multiple customer cases at once without losing attention to detail.

You are resilient and calm under pressure, particularly when handling complaints or complex issues, and you focus on achieving strong outcomes for both customers and the business.

You enjoy collaborating with teammates across different regions and functions, and you are confident building trust with both customers and internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2–3+ years’ experience in a customer support or customer-facing role
  • Hands-on expertise using a ticketing system (Zendesk preferred)
  • Experience working with real-time messaging tools (e.g. Slack)
  • Exposure to identity verification, risk monitoring, or trust & safety tools (advantageous)
  • Strong customer-first mindset with a track record of high-quality service delivery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across written and verbal channels
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision

  • First contact resolution
  • Quality and clarity of communication
  • Effective resolution of escalated and complex customer cases
  • Low repeat contact rate / strong resolution outcomes
