LegalVision is a market disruptor in the commercial legal services industry. Our innovative business model and custom-built technology allow our lawyers to provide a faster, better quality and more cost-effective client experience. LegalVision’s New Zealand business has been growing rapidly since its launch in 2021, and is now looking for more top quality team members who are excited about being an integral part of LegalVision New Zealand’s own growth journey and continued disruption of the New Zealand legal services industry. LegalVision was named one of the best law firms to work for by Australasian Lawyer in 2025, and previously one of Lawyers Weekly’s Top 25 Attraction Firms, and Law Firm of the Year at the Australasian Law Awards multiple times.

The Opportunity

Due to the ongoing growth and success of LegalVision, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Law Graduate to join our high performing Corporate & Commercial practice group in February 2026. This is a full time role based in Christchurch.

The role will involve assisting our growing number of diverse clients with a varied range of commercial, privacy and general corporate work. LegalVision’s clients operate in a range of industries, including SaaS/IT, healthcare, e-commerce, construction and recruitment.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to prioritise effectively, work under pressure, manage a range of legal matters concurrently, and confidently communicate directly with clients.

You will receive comprehensive formal and on the job training focused on technical legal knowledge, matter management, and client service to give you a strong understanding of the legal needs of New Zealand businesses, in order to provide pragmatic advice.

What You'll Be Doing

Under the supervision of our Practice Leaders and Senior Associates, you’ll be communicating with clients and getting stuck into work from your first month!

A typical day for our graduate lawyers may include (among other things):

  • Conducting legal research.
  • Provide oral and written advice to clients on a broad range of legal matters (including as part of our industry leading Legal Advice Consultation service).
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts - including Goods & Services Agreements, Manufacturing Agreements, Distribution Agreements, IP Assignment & Licensing Agreements.
  • Helping clients with a broad range of corporate needs including sale and purchase of businesses, shareholder agreements, share buy-backs, employee share option plans, business structuring, loans and corporate governance.
  • Contributing to the growth of team and business through the delivery of articles, and participating in internal ‘LV Academy’ training sessions.
  • Working closely with your seniors to provide an excellent client experience, and being part of a fun, motivated and supportive team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified with strong academics: You are a recent law graduate and are either already admitted as a Lawyer, or will be admitted during 2026.
  • A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in an environment where proactive problem-solving and independent action are key to success.
  • Wants to do things differently and isn’t the average law graduate: You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are keen to grow as a lawyer in an innovative NewLaw environment.
  • Passionate about the client experience: You are focused on your clients and you’re dedicated to creating experiences that exceed client expectations.
  • Personable, empathetic and resilient: You are friendly, warm and professional. You celebrate the ups and push through and learn from the downs.
  • Cool and calm under pressure: You are an organised and efficient worker, and can effectively manage competing priorities.

The Perks

  • Fast-paced environment with exciting growth opportunities.
  • Talented, fun and supportive managers and team members.
  • Annual budget to spend on external learning opportunities.
  • Earn additional ‘LV Leave’ days, plus paid birthday leave, volunteering leave, and enhanced paid parental leave.
  • Christchurch location, at least 3 days a week in the office.
