The Opportunity
As a Legal Solutions Consultant (our internal title for Business Development Manager) in our Growth team, you’ll work with SMEs across Australia and New Zealand to explore their immediate legal challenges and uncover longer-term strategic goals. This isn’t a one-off transactional sale: you’ll scope out requirements across multiple legal disciplines, from employment and commercial contracts to data privacy compliance, intellectual property, and growth planning. Your mission is to demonstrate how our all-inclusive membership can support every stage of their journey, mitigate risk and power growth.
You will work closely with our team of SME SDRs and will have meetings set for you. You’ll manage a high volume of open leads at any time and will be focused on maximising your conversion rate and MRR on leads assigned. Though the sales cycle for SME leads is relatively short, you will be nurturing your pipeline of leads who don’t close quickly, and will have access to closed-lost leads to target. With our uncapped commission structure and accelerators for longer term memberships, this role offers genuine scope for top performers to maximise both income and impact.
While prior experience in consultative B2B sales is essential, legal sector experience is not required. You’ll receive comprehensive training to build your knowledge of the legal and commercial challenges businesses face.
This is a full-time position based in our Surry Hills office. You’ll work onsite five days per week initially, reducing to 3 days per week once ramped.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven closer: At least 2 years’ experience in consultative B2B sales (BDM, AE, or solutions consultant) with a track record of consistently exceeding targets.
- Commercially minded: You can put yourself in the shoes of a small business owner and understand their goals, fears and drivers. You know that selling to a SME is a skill and you have the personality and knack to do it.
- Multi-solution mindset: Comfortable scoping and selling compliance-driven services that address multiple business needs.
- Client champion: A consultative style that balances persuasion with trust-building. You focus on delivering measurable value to clients, not just winning a deal.
- Ambitious and hungry: You want to be the best in the team, and better than you were last month. If you’re in an environment to succeed you back yourself and will put in the work to do it.
