It's our mission to bring people together by growing local food scenes. We’re the world’s leading personalised menu and ordering platform, trusted by 25 million foodies across 6,000+ locations.
When it comes to food experience, me&u helps you always feel like a local. The company's vision is to bring that feeling to everyone, anywhere - so no matter what neighbourhood you live in or visit, you'll always know the perfect place to go and exactly what to order.
With 200 staff in five countries, and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, me&u is the consolidation of two leading hospitality technology companies: Mr Yum and me&u, who merged in November 2023.
The PM role is changing.
AI has collapsed the cost of building software and the barrier to trying new things, and that's changing what a product manager does. The PM’s coordination and waiting for engineering capacity challenges are disappearing.
What replaces them is a maker: someone who spots a commercial opportunity, proves it with a prototype the same week, and ships it with their stream. Our designers already build working UI. Our engineers already make product calls. We're hiring PMs who blur the lines right back.
We already work this way: the AFR profiled how our engineers run agents overnight so their days go to customers and problems, not keyboards.
Your first mission: payments.
You'll own strategic initiatives within the stream that moves money for our venues. We move billions of dollars a year, and the ground is shifting under payments: new rails, new rules, and increasing expectations of how to pay and get paid. Accuracy of accounting and speed of product development matter in equal measure.
What you'll do
Why me&u
Work with impact and purpose. We're helping the hospitality and entertainment industries to thrive and me&u is at the forefront of this. Expect collaboration and interesting problems to solve.
Work with great people. Work alongside a supportive, diverse and inclusive team. You'll have the trust, freedom and support to experiment and not be afraid of failure but to learn from it...and have fun together along the way.
Work that challenges you. We're growing quickly, and you will too. You'll have numerous opportunities to embrace discomfort, grow and learn as me&u expands and scales globally.
Work that works for you. We're a flexible, remote-friendly place with inclusive leave options and day-to-day work times to suit your routine. We prioritise our team's mental health & overall wellbeing, with access to mental health days and support programs.
Diversity and Inclusion Commitment
We're committed to growing and empowering an inclusive me&u community. That's why we actively encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. If you require accessibility assistance at any stage of the process, please let us know.

What you'll do
- Own strategic initiatives end to end. Spot the opportunity, set the strategy and roadmap, and answer for the commercial results, working closely with an engineering manager, product designer, engineers, and the go-to-market team.
- Make the commercial calls. Positioning, packaging, trade-offs, value cases. We judge impact using business outcomes, not output.
- Prototype to persuade. Use AI to turn ideas into working prototypes / POCs to demonstrate your product thinking and validate with customers with something real.
- Discovery is your default mode. You know your numbers deeply, and you know when they change unexpectedly. Hospitality is tactile, time in venues with operators and guests complements your quantitative analysis.
- Work AI-first every day. Analysis, writing, evals for AI features, and whatever agents make possible next.
- You’ve created product impact. There’s no minimum years of PMing requirement, however you will have clearly demonstrate the impact you’ve created, what you've shipped, how fast you learn, which calls you got right.
- High agency. You don't wait for a brief, permission or perfect data. You find the shortest path to the outcome and take it.
- AI-native ways of working. AI is already how you prototype, analyse, write and think, and you're curious about what it makes possible next.
- Commercial instincts. You connect product decisions to revenue, and you can hold the customer's side and the business's side at the same time.
- Enough technical fluency to build. You can take an idea to a working proof of concept. You have a team of engineers to help fully get it to production.
- Clear communication. You write concisely, show your reasoning, and bring your stream and senior stakeholders with you.
- Be the gel between the product team and our go-to-market teams. This is our superpower at me&u so keeping this tight is a huge priority.
- It’s great if you know payments already, but if not, we can teach you that.
- Payments, fintech or marketplace experience
- B2B SaaS at a scale-up
- A soft spot for hospitality
- The most important keywords in this JD are: high-agency, commercial, customer-focused and AI - you will need to demonstrate all of these. Be creative.
- We work flexibly, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne where the product team gathers each week.
