A little about us
When it comes to food experience, me&u helps you always feel like a local. The company's vision is to bring that feeling to everyone, anywhere - so no matter what neighbourhood you live in or visit, you'll always know the perfect place to go and exactly what to order.
me&u is used by 6000+ bars, pubs, and restaurants to create memorable guest experiences and grow their brands. With 200 staff in five countries, and headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, me&u is the consolidation of two leading hospitality technology companies: Mr Yum and me&u, who merged in November 2023.

About the role
As our Sales Development Representative, you're the first conversation a venue has with me&u. You'll own every inbound enquiry across ANZ - getting to them fast, qualifying them properly and getting them in front of the right Business Development Manager - and you'll build new pipeline of your own through outbound prospecting.
Roughly 60% of your week is outbound. The rest is inbound qualification and making sure the handover to our Business Development Managers is genuinely useful. You'll sit in our ANZ Sales team, report to our Director of Sales ANZ, and work closely with Business Development Managers, Marketing and RevOps.
This is a Melbourne-based role with a hybrid working setup.

What you'll do
  • Prospect venues and hospitality groups across ANZ by phone, LinkedIn, email and anything else that starts a conversation, including industry events and POS partner networks.
  • Build target account lists by segment and region with the Director of Sales each quarter, and run structured multi-touch outreach against them.
  • Open on the operator's problem rather than our product - what it's costing them, who's involved, how they buy and what's driving the timing.
  • Contact every inbound lead within our SLA, then qualify or disqualify it accurately and allocate it to the Business Development Manager covering that patch.
  • Book qualified demos, get them into diaries, confirm attendance and keep no-shows low.
  • Write handover notes that mean the Business Development Manager walks in fully briefed, in the venue's own words.
  • Keep Salesforce accurate on lead source, status and outcome, so we can measure what's actually working.
  • Give Marketing specific, evidenced feedback on which campaigns and channels produce leads worth having.

What you'll need
  • Experience in an outbound, inside sales or new business role - or hospitality experience and the confidence to pick up the phone to operators.
  • Comfort starting conversations with people you don't know, and the persistence to keep going when the first few don't land.
  • Good questions and better listening. You can work out quickly whether there's a real opportunity there, and say so when there isn't.
  • Clear, concise writing. Your notes and emails land without needing a rewrite.
  • Enough organisation to run outbound activity and inbound demand at the same time without one quietly swallowing the other.
  • Experience with a CRM, ideally Salesforce, and the discipline to keep it clean.
  • A genuine interest in hospitality and the people who run venues.

Nice to have
  • Experience selling into hospitality, or having worked in a venue yourself.
  • Familiarity with a structured qualification approach
  • Curiosity about AI tools and how they speed up research, outreach and admin.
  • An existing network across the ANZ hospitality or POS partner scene.
