Have you ever walked into a place and felt right at home? People are chatting, laughing and exchanging ideas; they’re deeply invested. No one’s afraid to speak up, experiment or fail. And everyone cares – about the work, each other, the planet and even where to find the best sushi for lunch.

It’s a place where you’re celebrated for the value you add, not the title you come with, and you’re supported to do what makes you happy.

It’s what makes Phocas special.

And there’s more to Phocas’s special character – we have a rich twenty-year history as a trailblazer in data analytics and financial analytics. Each day we process vast quantities of data to help our customers find insights they can use to run their businesses better. Our push for excellence has helped us grow from a small UK-based start-up to 300 people in 6 offices across the world, with headquarters in Sydney, Australia and a world-class development team right here in Christchurch.

We’re looking for smart, creative, innovative developers who want to build amazing software and have a great time doing it. If you join the Phocas graduate programme, you'll get the opportunity to work with four different product teams during your first two years at Phocas. You’ll work on diverse products, use a wide range of tools and technologies, find out where your passions lie, and, of course, have a lot of fun!

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A degree in software engineering, computer science or similar
  • A strong academic record
  • Experience developing software in modern web and UI orientated languages and frameworks
  • An empathetic approach to communication & genuine desire to collaborate with others
  • A growth mindset, curiosity and a passion for learning and technology

We expect candidates to start at the end of 2024, but happy to consider mid-year graduates too!

Please note: due to current immigration restrictions, we are only able to consider applicants based in NZ with citizenship, residency or a current work visa.
