Our privacy-first sensor platform delivers rich, real-time insights to help teams control real estate costs, reduce their carbon footprint, boost space productivity, and orchestrate office environments that people love.
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to accelerate the development of new features on our next-generation occupancy sensor, while driving robustness improvements to both the device and our procedures. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll work on advanced embedded systems, from hardware integration to process improvements, helping shape the future of our product platform.
This role is offered as a 6-month full-time maximum term contract, reporting to the Lead Embedded Engineer.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking an experienced embedded engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. You’ll have deep experience with embedded Linux systems, hardware integration, and best-practice software development processes.
You’ll work closely with the broader Embedded Systems team and collaborate with product and hardware engineers to ensure our devices are robust, scalable, and efficient.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership of core features, improve system reliability, and help refine how we build, test, and release embedded software at scale.

Process & Quality Improvements
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines for embedded testing and release.
- Introduce process improvements that increase developer efficiency and overall product quality.
- Contribute to fleet monitoring and diagnostic tooling to support scalable deployment.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of new features.
- Clearly communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to the Lead Embedded Engineer and team members.
- Actively participate in design discussions and provide technical input on product direction.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will
- Have 5+ years’ embedded systems experience, ideally with IoT hardware and embedded Linux systems.
- Demonstrate strong experience with 64-bit ARM SoCs and Yocto-based Linux development.
- Follow modern software development best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code review.
- Be detail-oriented, analytical, and pragmatic in solving complex problems.
- Thrive in collaborative team environments, with excellent communication and openness to feedback.
- Be self-motivated, with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
What You’ll Need
- Strong background in embedded systems, hardware integration, and debugging.
- Experience with Linux kernel drivers, system monitoring, and low-level programming.
- Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop testing and fleet monitoring.
- Experience working in fast-moving product or startup environments.
- Ability to balance hands-on execution with broader system thinking.
- Based in Melbourne, Victoria, with working rights for this role.
