This is not a role inside a team. You're running a product. You own the P&L, the customers, the code, and the roadmap for a Shopify shipping app used by thousands of Australian merchants.

We're handing you the keys. Build it into the best thing in its category.

What You Own

Everything.

  • Product direction - what gets built, what gets killed, what the app becomes
  • Revenue and growth
  • Customer relationships - you're in the tickets every day, you know every pain point firsthand
  • The code - there are bugs to fix, manual workarounds to eliminate, and features to ship. You'll do it yourself
  • App store reputation

You'll have engineering and design support when you need it, and unlimited AI tooling every day. But most days, it's you and the product.

What Success Looks Like In Your First 3 Months

You've personally handled every support ticket and you know the product cold. The worst manual workarounds are gone - built into the app. Merchants who left bad reviews have heard from you directly. You have a clear, opinionated view of what the best shipping app on Shopify looks like, and you're already building toward it. Revenue is trending up because the product is getting better.

Who This Is For

You're someone who wants to run a business, not just work in one. You're technical enough to ship code, commercial enough to read a P&L, and customer-obsessed enough to answer every support ticket.

You might have:

  • Run or helped run a product, app, or business before
  • A development background - PHP is ideal, but if you've picked up languages before you'll figure it out
  • Done customer support and actually liked being close to the customer
  • Some exposure to ecommerce, Shopify, or merchant tools
  • 3-6 years of professional experience

You are:

  • Entrepreneurial - you see a product with untapped potential and think "I can turn this into something great"
  • Technical enough to build - you can read code, write code, and ship without waiting for someone else
  • Customer-first - you'd rather fix the thing causing complaints than write a macro to auto-close tickets
  • Self-directed - you don't need standups, sprints, or a manager checking in daily
  • Energised by ownership and uncomfortable with bureaucracy

What This Is Not

  • A pure engineering role inside a team with sprints and ceremonies
  • A management role where you delegate and review dashboards
  • A position where someone else sets your priorities or tells you what to build
  • Right for someone who needs a lot of structure to do their best work

Who You'll Work With

You'll work directly with our Co-Founders - ex-TradeGecko (acquired by Intuit) - and have a direct line to engineering and design when you need them. But you're the one driving. Think of it as running your own startup with revenue, customers, and infrastructure already in place.
